Each year we realise and redefine what is possible for our members. We constantly adapt to the unpredictable, persevere through obstacles, and embrace every opportunity to bring value to the members.
That said, the pandemic did accelerate some positive changes. Many of the old ways of doing things will not be the ways of the future. Many of our members have now embraced the idea of services being delivered online or via mobile. The ravages of the pandemic brought home the realisation that savings are critical in each one’s life.
So, amid the lockdown, we relentlessly pursued and worked with Parliament, and the Government of Uganda to ensure that the amendment of the NSSF Act was finalised and assented to. The NSSF Amendment Act offers an amazing opportunity for our members. It enabled the Fund to pay members midterm benefits, which coming at the tail end of the Covid-19 pandemic, brought much-needed relief to the members.
More importantly, the Amendment Act is enabling the Fund to live its purpose and passion; And that is to make lives better for Ugandans, by making savings a way of life.
